How to add your business to Apple Maps (Apple Business)
A step-by-step guide from Social Web. Updated 19 October 2026.
Apple Maps is the map on every iPhone. When someone searches for you in Maps or asks Siri for a business like yours, the card that comes up is called a place card. You control it through Apple Business. It's free, and most small businesses never claim it.
Apple Business Connect is now Apple Business
In 2026 Apple folded Apple Business Connect into a single service called Apple Business, together with Apple Business Manager and Apple Business Essentials. The old address, businessconnect.apple.com, now sends you to business.apple.com. A lot of guides online still show the old name and the old screens, so if something doesn't match, that's why.
If you already used Business Connect, don't sign up again. Sign in at business.apple.com with your existing account and your locations move across.
Before you start: get your details in one place
Copy these from your website so every listing says the same thing. The free listings guide explains why that matters.
- Your business name, exactly as it appears on your signage and website. Apple only allows the name itself: no descriptions, no ® or ™, and no suburb unless it's part of the name.
- Your street address.
- Your phone number with the country code (+61).
- Your opening hours.
- Your website. If you don't have one, Apple accepts a Facebook, Instagram or TikTok page.
- One main category, plus up to four more.
- A work email address that isn't already used as an Apple Account.
Step 1: Sign up for Apple Business
- Go to business.apple.com and choose Sign up now.
- Enter your business name, address and website. The website is optional, but Apple says it can speed up verification.
- Leave the agency box unticked unless you manage listings for other businesses.
- Enter your own name. Apple wants a real person here, not "Admin" or "Reception".
- Add your phone number, set a password, then enter the codes Apple sends to your email and your phone.
- Accept the terms.
Step 2: Add your location
- Go to Brands, then Locations, and select Add.
- Type your business name. If Apple Maps already has you, choose it from the results. If not, choose "Add a new location with this name".
- Enter your address and drag the pin onto your building. Apple wants the pin on the building itself, not on the footpath or the road.
- Add your category, phone number and hours, then pick or create your brand (your name and logo).
If you see "This location is already managed", someone else has claimed it. You can still add it and ask Apple for a transfer, with a document such as a business licence or a utility bill. Apple says a transfer review can take up to five working days.
Step 3: Verify
For your first location, Apple asks you to verify the business itself. You choose two of these:
- A business ID. Apple asks for a D-U-N-S Number (or a US EIN).
- A TXT record added to your website's domain settings.
- An app you publish in App Store Connect.
- An official document, such as a business licence, a lease or a utility bill.
If you don't have a D-U-N-S Number or an app, the domain record and a document make your two. If someone else looks after your website, send them the TXT record and ask them to add it.
Apple says the review takes up to five working days. You have 60 days from signing up to get verified, and after that Apple deletes the account and everything in it.
For a place Apple Maps already lists, Apple may instead offer to call the phone number it has on record and give you a four-digit code.
Step 4: Fill in your place card
Once you're verified, add:
- A logo and a cover photo. Apple checks both before they appear.
- A few real photos of your work or your premises.
- A short About description.
- Holiday and special hours. Apple asks you to describe when you're open, not when you're closed.
- Good to Know details, such as payment methods or parking.
If you work from home and go to your customers
Apple's guide asks for a street address with the pin on your building. Unlike Google and Bing, it doesn't describe a way to hide your address and show a service area instead. If you're a cleaner, a tradie or a mobile clinic working from home, ask Apple Business support how they want you listed before you put your home address on a public map.
Your other two listings can hide the address. See Bing Places and Google Business Profile.
After you're done
- A week later, search your business in Apple Maps on an iPhone and check the name, phone and hours.
- Customers can report details as wrong, and Apple may change them. When it changes your name, hours or open status, Apple emails you. Go to Brands, then Locations, find the location marked Updates Available, and either accept it with Looks Good or edit it back.
- When your hours or phone number change, change them here, on Google, on Bing and on your website on the same day.
