Websites for cleaning businesses: what ours does, and what yours needs
Updated 19 October 2026
It's Sunday night. A real estate agent has the photographer booked for Wednesday and needs a pre-sale clean in Mosman. They search "pre-sale cleaning Mosman", open three sites and give each one a quick scroll.
In that scroll, a cleaning business website has four jobs. Turn up for the service and the suburb. Prove the work with real photos. Make asking for a quote easy. And deal with the question that arrives after you've knocked off.
We know this because we run a cleaning business. DSK does pre-sale and strata cleaning in Sydney, and dsk.au is one of the businesses we own and run ourselves, on the same tech and the same design approach we use for clients. Here's how its site handles each job, and how we'd do the same for yours.
1. Be found for "cleaner + suburb"
People rarely search for "a cleaning company". They search for the job and the place: "end of lease clean Dee Why", "strata cleaning Chatswood".
dsk.au gives every main service its own page, and then a page for that service in each suburb it covers. There are more than 170 of them. They aren't copies with the suburb name swapped in. The Manly pre-sale page talks about sea salt leaving a haze on the windows that shows up in the listing photos, and about the shady side of a tight Manly block that grows mould through winter. That's the kind of thing a local cleaner knows and a template never would.
For your own site, that means a page for each service you want work in, written for the suburbs you actually cover, in words that sound like you. Then keep your name, phone number and service area the same on your site and on your Google, Bing and Apple Maps listings.
We don't promise rankings. Nobody honest can. We build the pages properly and keep your listings matching them.
2. Show real before and afters
Every cleaner says they're thorough. A mossy terracotta roof next to the same roof after a soft wash says it better.
dsk.au has a before and after page with eight real jobs, including a front path, a pool deck, that roof and a shower drain. Every pair has a line on what was done. The page says the photos come straight from the crew, with no staging.
The hard part is the photos. Most before shots get taken from wherever you happened to be standing. Put them side by side and they look like two different places. That's the problem the Studio solves, further down.
3. Make the quote easy
On dsk.au the quote button and the phone number sit in the header. The quote form has three short steps. Pick the service (pre-sale, strata, end of lease, post-build, house wash, or "not sure"), leave a name, phone, email and suburb, then send. The page tells you what happens next: a written quote within 24 hours, often worked out from photos, with the price agreed before the job starts.
Ask for the least you need to quote, and tell people when they'll hear back.
4. Answer after hours
Cleaners are on the tools all day. DSK answers the phone 7am to 6pm, seven days, and its quote form takes a job at any hour with a reply promised within 24 hours. That covers someone who's ready to book.
It doesn't cover someone with a question at 9:47pm. Do you come out to Avalon? Do I need to be home for it?
Our website assistant is for that. It's trained only on what you give us: your services, prices, hours and the suburbs you cover. It's tested against real questions before it goes live, and anything you don't want it answering goes to you instead. It can still get something wrong, so you see what it's been asked each month. You can try one on hydralab.au, another business we run.
How Social Web builds a website for a cleaning business
The build, from A$1,499
It covers up to 5 pages and 2 rounds of changes, delivered in 3 to 5 business days. An AI design engine drafts every page and a person runs it: each page is checked and refined by a person before you see it. You look at it on a private page, ask for changes, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
Five pages to start
For a cleaner that might be a home page, your main service, a second service, a before and after gallery, and a quote page. dsk.au has grown well past five pages, and you don't need that on day one. More pages are quoted before any work starts. On Done for you (A$349 a month) we add up to 2 new SEO pages a month, which is one way to build up suburb pages over time.
Before and afters that line up
With a website we build, your monthly plan includes the Studio, where you make posts in your brand. Drop in your job photos and it lines them up, matching the zoom, the angle and the framing, so the post shows the same view twice. If two shots are too different, you slide one over the other yourself.
Hosting included, one bill
A website usually comes with a second bill for hosting. Ours doesn't. Hosting, the security certificate and uptime checks are part of your monthly plan. On Website, you run it, that's A$99 a month, so day one is A$1,598 (A$1,499 plus your first month). That plan includes the assistant and 25 AI edits a month, so you can type "we now cover Narrabeen" in your portal and the site changes.
Listings kept matching
On Website, looked after (A$199 a month) we set up your free Google, Bing and Apple Maps listings, keep them matching the site, and run a monthly Google indexing check.
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.
