Small business marketing in Sydney: the basics before ads

From Social Web, an Australian business in New South Wales. Updated 31 October 2026.

Before you pay for ads or an agency, get the basics working: your free listings on Google, Bing and Apple Maps, posting regularly, and email to the customers you already have.

You can run most of it yourself. Social Web gives you the posting tools from A$49 a month, or does it for you on a monthly plan. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.

The basics, in order

1. Your free listings

Google Business Profile, Bing Places and Apple Maps are how a business shows up on maps, and claiming them costs nothing. Our free listings guide walks you through each one.

Rather not do it yourself? On Website, looked after (A$199 a month, with a website we design) and up, we set up your listings and keep them matching your site.

2. Posting regularly

Studio only is A$49 a month: branded post templates, scheduling and a posting plan. AI writes up to 20 posts a month from facts you save, and nothing goes out until you schedule it.

Rather not post yourself? Posts, done for you is A$179 a month: up to 8 branded posts a month, made from your photos and what you tell us. Done for you, at A$349 a month, adds up to 4 short video reels a month.

3. Email to your own customers

Every plan except Creator and the one-page site includes email to your customers, up to 5,000 a month. Your customer list is yours: download it any time from your account.

4. A website that takes enquiries

No website yet? The one-page site is A$39 a month: one page with tap-to-call and an enquiry form, checked by a person before it goes live. A designed website is from A$1,499, then from A$99 a month with hosting included. See the website and social media package.

Then ads

Ads send people to your listings and your website, so those need to be right first. Done for you + Ads is A$649 a month, with Google or Meta ads built and managed. It comes with a website we design, and your ad money goes to Google or Meta, not to us.

How it works

  1. Start with a free check, or answer three questions in Find my plan.
  2. Sign up online and tell us about your business.
  3. A person checks your Studio or your site before you see it.
  4. Run it yourself, or let us do it for you each month. You can move up any month.
